Moodbidri, Aug. 5: A Drug Awareness Programme was meaningfully organized at Excellent Pre-University College with the objective of steering students away from substance abuse and encouraging them to lead healthy, value-based lives. Inaugurating the programme, Moodbidri Police Inspector Rajendra B. said that drug abuse is a serious social menace that not only destroys an individual's life but also disrupts the peace and well-being of families and society. He noted that addiction often begins with momentary curiosity or bad company but can completely change the course of a person's life. He urged students to develop legal awareness, self-discipline, and strong moral values, and to play an active role in building a drug-free society. He encouraged them to focus on building their future rather than falling into addiction, emphasizing that they have many educational and career opportunities ahead of them. Speaking as the chief guest, Mulki Police Sub-Inspector Raghavendra Nayak expressed concern over the growing network of drug trafficking targeting young people. He urged every student to remain alert and become a responsible citizen by fearlessly reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. Presiding over the programme, Yuvaraj Jain, President of Excellent Educational Institutions, said, "Life is God's gift; what we make of it is our achievement. Protect your life and make it meaningful. Life is precious, and living it responsibly is an even greater responsibility." He emphasized that the true purpose of education is not merely academic excellence but the development of good character, social responsibility, and patriotic values among young people. He added that the harmonious combination of knowledge, values, and discipline is the true measure of a student's success. The programme was attended by Rashmita Jain, Secretary of the institution, career guidance expert Vivek Bhandari, and Principal Pushparaj. Lecturer Manjushree Nayak compered the programme, while Priyanka delivered the vote of thanks.
