Students must remain aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse and play an active role in building a healthy, responsible society, said Ms. Prathibha K.S., Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), Moodbidri Police Station. She was speaking as the Chief Guest at the Anti-Drug Awareness Programme organized at Excellent Pre-University College, Kallabettu, Moodbidri. Addressing the students, PSI Prathibha K.S. explained the serious physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction. She urged students not to succumb to momentary temptations but to cultivate good friendships, positive values, and a disciplined lifestyle. She emphasized that a strong, healthy, and progressive nation can be built only when young people adopt a drug-free way of life and make responsible choices. Presiding over the programme, Mr. Pushparaj, Principal of the college, stated that the institution regularly organizes such awareness programmes to instill social responsibility, legal awareness, and good citizenship among students. As part of the programme, students took a pledge to work towards building a drug-free society. They enthusiastically reaffirmed their commitment to staying away from drugs and spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse in society. The programme was attended by Mr. Ranjith Jain, CET Coordinator, and Dr. Shruthi, Head of the Department of Biology. The programme was compered by Mr. Sunad Raj Jain, Vice Principal.
